October 12, 2008Women Place Third at Regionals
Herkimer ended the season with a solid 3rd place finish at the Region III Women’s Tennis Championships held at Hudson Valley Community College. Other points contributing to Herkimer’s Third Place finish came from Sarah Dorosz who defeated Dionne Bever of MVCC in the first round, Emily Dillard defeated Tonya Droczak from OCC in the first round, and Second Doubles team Jessica Beauvais and Marissa earned a point for HCCC by defeating HVCC in the first round.

Hesse Named to First Team All-Region
Freshman, Robyn Hesse ruined Broome’s sweep of tournament by knocking out #1 seeded Broome player, Katie Keesler in the semi final by scores of 6-4 in the first set and then rallied back from a 1-4 deficit to win the second set 7-6 (tie break 7-3).

Herkimer Falls to Adirondack
Herkimers' Fifth and Sixth Seeded singles and Third seeded doubles team defeat Adirondack, but not enough to win.

A Dark Day for Women's Tennis
It was a long afternoon for the Herkimer Women's Tennis team. As day turned to night women tennis was was unable to beat Onondaga. The one bright spot for Herkimer was the doubles team of Beauvais and Morton.
