Women’s Tennis Wins Season Opener

Herkimer’s women’s tennis team got their season off to a great start with a convincing 7-2 win over Delhi.  The Lady Generals dominated the Lady Broncos in both singles and doubles play.  Coach Katie Scanlon called it a great match with fine play by the entire lineup.

The most notable win was by Courtney Hibbard, playing Third Singles.  The sophomore from Westmoreland was trailing 2-5 (love-40) in the second set but gritted out a terrific comeback to win the set 7-5.
