Herkimer Women's Tennis wins Mountain Valley Conference Championship

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Tennis team completed their regular season on Wednesday with a 9-0, 9-0 sweep of conference rival Mohawk Valley CC in a double match that took place in Herkimer, NY. With the wins, the Generals improved to 9-1 overall and completed their conference season with an 8-0 record and won their second straight Mountain Valley Conference Championship.

Due to rainouts earlier this fall, the Generals and Hawks played 8 game pro-sets in order to get two matches in on Wednesday. Leading Herkimer's effort was Danielle Fadness (Holland Patent) stayed perfect on the season with two wins on the day. Jackie Milillo (Wading River) won both of her matches by a score of 8-0 and Maggie Mulligan (Amsterdam) won her first singles flight matches by scores of 8-0, 8-1.

After successfully defending their conference title, The Generals will travel to Delhi, NY this weekend to begin defense of their Region III Championship. Matches begin on Friday, Oct 7th at 9:00 AM at the SUNY Delhi tennis complex.
