REGION III CHAMPIONSHIPS
1994, 1995, 2001
After a 1 year hiatus, the women's tennis team has come back in full force compiling a 12-7 record since its return to Region III tennis. In Fall 2007, the team came in second place in the Region, losing by only one point to Broome Community College. In the last two seasons the team has celebrated 4 individual Regional Champions at the following flights- first singles, first doubles, second doubles, sixth singles as well as 6 athletes named First Team All-Region.
The women's tennis team competes in the Fall semester. Athletes can expect to compete in 10 matches which include both singles and doubles matches against community colleges across New York State. At the end of the regular season, the Region III Women's Tennis Tournament will determine the team and individual athletes that qualify to compete at the National Tournament in Tucson, Arizona. Students intending to try-out for the women's tennis team will arrive on campus approximately two weeks prior to the start of the Fall semester. The tennis program is a great way to get involved in college life while also enjoying the camaraderie of team sport.
TENNIS COURTS
Herkimer has eight regulation sized tennis courts on campus. These courts are open to the public for for singles and doubles play. The courts nestled in a quiet part of the campus near the athletic fields.
