Herkimer Volleyball wins road match at Hudson Valley CC

Troy, NY - The Herkimer Generals volleyball team took to the road on Wednesday night and defeated Hudson Valley Community College in 4 sets, winning the match by scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-27, and 25-18. With the win, the Generals improve to 6-19 on the year.

Senior Marissa Mowers (Dolgeville) once again led the Generals attack with 9 kills and 22 digs on the night. Taylor Van Winkler (Richfield Springs) had a great night with 10 digs, 3 kills, and 35 assists. Tessa Gaglianese (Canastota) added 7 kills and 14 digs while Lisa McMillian (Johnstown) added 1 kill and 17 digs.

Herkimer wraps up its Fall 2011 season with a trip to Delhi on Saturday for the Mountain Valley Conference Championships. The Generals earned the #4 seed for the tournament and will take on rival Mohawk Valley Community College in the #4/#5 game at 10:00 AM. The winner faces #1 SUNY Adirondack immediately after that match.
