Three Is a Crowd As Herkimer Cross Country Takes 3rd Place at Bronco Classic

The men's and women's cross country teams swept two third place finishes tonight at the Bronco Weekday 5K Classic hosted by SUNY Delhi - the site of this year's Regional competition.  In typical fashion the women's team was led by freshman standout Mollianne Parsons.  Molly finished the 5K event in a time of 21:52.15 earning her a 5th place finish overall.  Teammate Melissa Wagner wasn't too far behind finishing 11th overall in a time of 23:56.92.  Stephanie Bergstrom and Serena Sweeney had a competitive split coming in 14th and 16th respectively with times of 24:27.12 and 25:13.09.  The pack was rounded out by sophomore Emmalee Kelting finishing the race in 29:38.47 earning her a 31st place finish.

On the men's side the General's were once again led by sophomore Eric Green.  Green finished the 5K course in a respectable 18:56.47 earning him a 26th place finish overall.  Teammates Brian Majka, Sheldon Johnson, and Jake Raner completed a competitive split placing 31st (19:37.75), 34th (20:04.00), and 39th (20:42.99) respectively.  The team was rounded out with Ilion native Jose Maldonado finishing 44th in a time of 21:24.70, Jacob Witter finishing 48th in a time of 21:40. 53 and Ryan Butler finishing right behind him in 49th place in a time of 22:29.63.
