Good Times Posted At Falling Leaves Race For Herkimer Cross Country

The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams participated in the Utica Road Runner's Falling Leaves event in Utica, NY this Sunday.  The team ran the 3.1 mile course collectively and finished with great times.

The men's side was led by sophomore Eric Green who finished the course in a time of 18:23 giving him a 12^thplace overall finish and a fourth place finish in his division.  Ten places back was teammate Brian Majka finishing the race in 19:34 followed by Matt Vasco in 24^th place (19:42), Jake Raner in 25^th place (19:46) and Sheldon Johnson in 28^th place (20:06).  Ilion natives Jose Maldonado and TJ Gollegly had a good showing finishing 36^th and 41^st overall with times of 20:54 and 21:14 respectively.  Jacob Witter, Ryan Butler, Corey Grayson and Tyler Campbell completed the team with 50^th, 53^rd and 69^th place finishes (21:39, 21:44, 22:58 and 25:00 respectively).

Molly Parsons received recognition for her performance today not only leading the Herkimer's women's side but for finishing 3^rd overall in her division with a time of 22:47.  Teammates Serena Sweeny and Stephanie Bergstrom weren't too far behind finishing the race in 23:38 and 23:47 respectively.  The team was completed by Emmalee Kelting who finished with a time of 28:00.

The team has the upcoming week off in preparation for the back half of their season.  Their next race will be on the Regional Course at Delhi on Tuesday, October 6^th.
