Herkimer Cross Country Strong At Regionals; Parsons Named to All Region Team

True to form freshman standout Mollianne Parsons received All Region honors this past weekend at the Regional meet hosted by SUNY Delhi.  Molly finished the 3.1 mile course in a time of 22:24 with great speed at the end of the race earning her a 9^th place finish overall.  Teammates Stephanie Bergstrom and Melissa Wagner finished 26^th and 27^th respectively with times of 24:00 and 24:33.  Serena Sweeney was only 6 places back finishing 33^rd in a time of 25:45 and Emmalee Kelting rounded out the squad finishing 44^th in a time of 28:43.  The women's team finished 5^th in the Region just barely losing to Erie.  The Lady Generals conclude their season next weekend, November 7^th at Finger Lakes Community College where they will be competing in the National Championship.

On the men's side the team continued to be led by Sophomore Eric Green.  Green finished the 5 mile course in 32:33, and 37^th overall.  Freshman Sheldon Johnson finished just minutes behind Green in 34:54 earning him a 50^th place spot.  Jacob Witter, Corey Grayson and Ryan Butler rounded out the team finishing 63^rd (36:08), 65^th (38:53) and 67^th (42:27) overall.  The men took a 7^th place finish at Regionals and will join the ladies in competing at Nationals next weekend at FLCC.
