Julie DelMedico
Julie DelMedico has served as the head coach for cross country since 2006. Delmedico has high expectations for the men's and women's cross country teams each season. A graduate of Sauquoit Valley High School (2002), DelMedico was a four-sport varsity athlete participating in cross country, soccer, basketball and track and field. She went on to play basketball at SUNY-Geneseo.
DelMedico has served as head coach for HCCC's track and field team, since 2006, working specifically with the distance runners. Over her two years here, DelMedico has helped yield a national champion: Sarah Lazarus, in the 800 and 1,500 meter races (2007). In 2008, she helped coached the women's track and field team to a Regional and National Championship, including, two individual champions: Amanda Davy - 400 Hurdles and Chantal Salamone - 100 Hurdles.
DelMedico holds a B.A. from SUNY-Geneseo and is currently
working toward a master's degree at SUNYIT. In addition to her
coaching duties, she is employed as a technical assistant in the
College's fitness center.
