Herkimer Women fall to Undefeated Corning

Herkimer, NY--  The Herkimer Generals Women’s Basketball team hosted the undefeated Corning Red Barons this afternoon.  Herkimer played an inspiring first half as they pulled away with the lead from the start.  During the second quarter Herkimer even held a ten point lead to the Red Barons, but Corning began to close the gap.  At the half the Generals led the Red Barons 30-24.  Corning stole the game momentum in the third quarter and never gave it back as Herkimer fell to the undefeated Red Barons with a final score of 60-49.  The Generals now turn their focus to Finger Lakes Community College as they host the Lakers tomorrow (11/20) 12 p.m.

Women's Basketball Wins at Home

Herkimer, NY—The Herkimer Generals Women’s Basketball team defeated the Hudson Valley Vikings Saturday, November 12th 64-56.  Two Herkimer sophomores dominated the boards in particular.  #5 Diamonique Franklin (Queensbridge, NY) and #10 Emerald Pett (Utica, NY) both earned 16 rebounds on the afternoon.  It was this hustle and grit that led the Generals to this win over the Vikings.  This win brings Herkimer’s record to 2-2 overall.

Women's Basketball Falls Short to Clinton

In Sunday’s match up versus the Clinton Community College Cougars the Generals fell just short as the final score was 42-69.  The Cougars held momentum throughout the game even at the half as the score was 32-22.  Herkimer Generals freshman guard #24 Jazmin Diggs scored an inspiring 21 points but it didn’t prove to be enough of what the Generals needed.  Herkimer uses this game as a learning experience and the Generals are hungry for their next game versus their conference rival, Mohawk Valley Hawks Wednesday November 9th at 6 p.m.
