Herkimer Keglers Open Conference Play

Troy and Hudson, NY - Both the Herkimer Men's and Women's Bowling teams opened their respective Mountain Valley Conference schedules this week. First up was a trip to Troy, NY for the opening match at Hudson Valley Community College. Both teams saw significant improvement from the weekend's opening invitational at MVCC.

The men's team put up some very impressive numbers on Tuesday, but with the extremely talented MVC teams on their game, the Generals managed only a fifth-place finish out of six teams. Tony Deluca (Frankfort, NY) led the way with a 254 high game en route to a 664 three-game series. Jason Kime (Caledonia, NY) was right behind with a three-game total of 662, which was highlighted by a high game of 232.

On the women's side, Sophomore transfer Sarah Foley (Rome, NY) blasted her way to 652 total with a 252 high game. Sara Edenhofer (Hilton, NY) finished second for the Generals with a 213 high game highlighting a 603 total.

The Generals were right back at it on Wednesday afternoon as they traveled to Columbia-Greene CC for another MVC match. The Herkimer Men's team was hot once again as they put up a team score of 3032, which put them in 4th place on the day. Jason Kime once again bowled extremely well as he rolled games of 248, 225, and 231 for a 704 total. Tony Deluca had another strong day with a 223 three-game total.

Sarah Foley and Sara Edenhofer once again led the way for the Herkimer women, putting up three-game scores of 620 and 594 respectively to lead the Generals overall total of 2444 on the afternoon.

Herkimer travels to Westchester CC on Saturday for the Blue and Orange Invitational and will return to conference play next Wednesday, Jan 30 at SUNY Adirondack.
