Herkimer bowling meet features Kime’s 300 game

Ilion, NY - The Generals hosted a conference bowling meet on Thursday afternoon. Both the men's and women's teams did well, but the special achievement of the day was a 300 game by HCCC's Jason Kime.

The senior from Caledonia, NY rolled 12 straight strikes in his second game. The rare feat was Kime's first collegiate 300 game.

The Lady Generals bowled their way to a second-place finish. The Herkimer men finished fourth.

Kime, who has led the Generals all season long, just missed a 200 game in Game One, bowling 194. But he came roaring back in Game Two, knocking down 12 straight to earn that ever-elusive 300 game. Kime finished the day with a 654 three-game series that resulted in a fourth-place finish for the Generals in the six-team meet.

Head Coach PJ Anadio stated, "I'm very proud of what Jason has been able to accomplish this season. He promised a 3.0 in the classroom, and he delivered. He promised a 300 game, and he delivered. Talent has always been there, but he has a new focus, demeanor and professionalism to him this year." Anadio added, "He earned this and he deserves this."

Herkimer also received a stellar day from Frankfort native Tony DeLuca who came out on fire with a 248 start that led a 627 finish. Brandon Lovell had his best day of the season, throwing down two 200 games and a 587 finish. Ilion's Brett Risi, another stalwart for Herkimer, cracked 200 twice as well finishing with a 577.

Bowling 2-7-2013 WomenOn the women's side, Herkimer was led by defending National Champ Sara Edenhofer, who had her best day of the season as she stormed to a 642 finish. Edenhofer came out strong as she rolled a 227 opener followed by a 245.

The Little Falls combo of Kayla Cross (190-507) and Megan Douglass (175-479) teamed up with sophomore transfer Sarah Foley (Rome) and Danielle Flander (Fonda) to help propel the Generals to a second-place finish two matches in a row. Foley shot a 563 with a high game of 201 while Flander enjoyed her best day as a collegian with back-to-back 150 games en route to a 437 finish.
