Generals beat Cannoneers 6-0

Herkimer, N.Y. - The newly #1 Nationally Ranked Herkimer Generals welcomed the Jefferson Cannoneers Wednesday night. Both teams would wear special jerseys to help show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Once the game started Herkimer wouldn’t waste any time in snatching an early lead. A quick combination play between Hailey Couchman (Baldwinsville, NY) and Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) would setup Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY) 38 seconds in to the contest. Just over a minute later Maddie Renshaw (Herkimer, NY) sprung Sarah George who finished nicely to give the Generals a 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. The tandem of George and Blumenstock would hook up again in the 9th minute when George would finish off a Blumenstock shot which she set her up for.

Blumenstock would end up collecting the hat trick on the night finishing the next 2 goals from a couple nice combination plays. The first saw Alexis Romeyn (St. Johnsville, NY) find Maddie Renshaw who would setup Blumenstock for her second. Two minutes later, Haley Harrington (Munnsville, NY) and Couchman worked in the midfield to free Blumenstock for her third of the game. Hailey Couchman would cap off the scoring in the first half and the game by scoring in the 30th minute on a Sarah George pass. Rachel Todd (McGraw, NY) and Honesti Crochran (Wingdale, NY) each played one half in goal to preserve another shutout for the Generals.
