Nicosia and Williamson score and assist twice in win

SANBORN, NY – Rested and ready after some time off, Herkimer went into Niagara County Community College (NCCC) and handed the Thunderwolves a 7-1 loss Sunday, having five different Lady Generals score in the contest.

Herkimer (4-1) scored four goals in the first half, five unanswered, with Julia Jaikin (Dolgeville, NY) starting it all off in the 10th minute. Five minutes later (12:09), Kayla Guidi (Herkimer, NY) found Jessica Williamson (Mexico, NY) for her first of two goals on the day.

Kalli Warmingham (Newport, NY) and Danielle Nicosia (Oneonta, NY) finished off the attack; giving Herkimer a 4-0 lead after Nicosia found Warmingham and Williamson found Nicosia. Nicosia found the net with less than a minute left (44.27).

It took almost 20 minutes before the Lady Generals built their lead to 5-0 after Rebecca Hammell (Pleasant Valley, NY) assisted on Williamson's second goal in the 65th minute. Hammell then scored in the 75th minute, after NCCC got on the scoreboard, from Nicosia to push the lead back to five (6-1).

Ending the game like they did in the first half, Warmingham assisted to Nicosia for the connection in the 85th minute to give Nicosia her second goal and Warmingham's second assist.

As mentioned before, Williamson and Nicosia both scored two goals against the Thunderwolves. Added to that, both players tallied two assists. Warmingham, more of a goal scorer, used her passing skills to help her team start a new win streak.

The Lady Generals next game is Wednesday, September 18th. They will host Fulton-Montgomery Community College at Wehrum Stadium in the first game of a double-header with Men's Soccer. Game time for the women is 4:30 p.m., as for the men, they're slated for 7 p.m.
