Nicosia and Warmingham at it again in win

SARANAC LAKE, NY – Aided by a two goals, one in each half, the Herkimer Women's Soccer team went into 'Saint Country' on Wednesday and handed North Country Community College a 2-1 loss.

Herkimer (6-1-1) had four halves of shutout ball ended within the first three minutes of the game when Chelsea Lafountain put the Saints up by one (1-0) in the 3rd minute.

Answering back by the 25th minute was the Lady Generals, led by Danielle Nicosia (Oneonta, NY). Assisting on the goal to tie it up was Zaira Pabon (Liberty, NY).

Helping Herkimer continue their current win streak, which is now at four, was Kalli Warmingham (Newport, NY). Warmingham, more of a distributer on the field as of late, came through for her team in the 48th minute when Julia Jaikin (Dolgeville, NY) found her for the go ahead score (2-1).

In the Lady Generals current four-game win streak, numerous players have shown up, but standing in the forefront on offense has been Nicosia and Warmingham. In Herkimer's last four games, Nicosia has managed three goals and two assists, while Warmingham has tallied two goals and six assists.

Helping aide to the success of Nicosia and Warmingham has been the defense, which is led by Kristi Bills (Northville, NY) at goalie. Bills had three saves on Wednesday and has not allowed more than one goal in Herkimer's last six games.

The Lady Generals continue of their four-game road trip this Saturday when they play Bryant & Stratton College (NY). Game time is set for 1 p.m.
