#2 Herkimer softball sweeps #10 Onondaga Lazers at home

Herkimer, NY-- #2 Herkimer softball comes from behind in two games versus #10 Onondaga yesterday afternoon.

Generals finish Cannoneers in 10 innings total

Watertown, NY—Herkimer Softball takes two more Region III wins in their doubleheader versus Jefferson Community College this Tuesday afternoon.  The Generals came out strong in the first inning of both games scoring four runs to start out the first game and batted around the lineup for nine runs to start the second game.  As a team the Generals hit 24 for 49 with 23 runs.  Freshman Shannon Moore (Norwich, NY) had 3 RBIs.  Sophomore Molly McGuire (Syracuse, NY) hit a double, a homerun and earned three RBIs.  Leadoff hitter sophomore #5 Taylor Fry (Gasport, NY) went 3 for 5 on the day with 4 runs and swiped 3 bags.  “An all-around great team day” says assistant coach Emily Woudenberg.  The Generals were especially proud of the pitching staff as sophomore Casey Boltersdorf (Levittown, PA) earned the first win with 8 strikeouts as Herkimer took game one 13-5 in five innings.  Freshman Keeanna Wolcik (Baldwinsville, NY) was just two outs away from a perfect game as she left one rise ball in the zone and it was hit over the fence by Jefferson third baseman Natalie Wicks in game two.

          Herkimer Softball alumn Sarah Heimbach (Greenwich, NY) now a senior for the Quinnipiac University Bobcats, is set to compete in a doubleheader this Sunday April 9, 2017 versus Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

Herkimer, NY-- The Herkimer Generals softball team sends a huge message at their, let's call it alternative home turf Herkimer High School this Wednesday versus Region III competitor Hudson Valley.

#2 Herkimer softball takes down two top ten teams

The nationally ranked number two Herkimer Generals had something to prove this past weekend as they took on the number eight Suffolk County Community College Sharks and the number seven Rowan College of Gloucester County Roadrunners.
