Herkimer Generals softball defeats first Region III competitor

Herkimer, NY-- The Herkimer Generals softball team sends a huge message at their, let's call it alternative home turf Herkimer High School this Wednesday versus Region III competitor Hudson Valley.  Herkimer High School generously allowed the Generals use of their field as the weather this spring has wreaked havoc on the hill.  Location makes no difference to the Generals as they came out with Herk pride that afternoon.  The Generals took both games utilizing the 8-run mercy rule: 9-1 in the first game and 18-0 in the second.  In the circle game one for the Generals was sophomore #12 Casey Boltersdorf (Levittown, PA) who struck out 6.  Hot bats for the Generals came from sophomores Taylor Fry (Gasport, NY) and Jackie Gardner (Syracuse, NY) who each earned a double, and freshman Shannon Moore (Norwich, NY), and Morgan Sgarlata (Oneida, NY) who each hit one over the fence.
