Herkimer College Green & Gold Athletes for the Month of April

 

Herkimer, NY – Herkimer College has announced its Green & Gold Athletes for the month of April. They are men’s track & field athlete Malik Briggs (Herkimer, NY) and women’s softball player Taylor Fry (Gasport, NY).

Malik Briggs made a significant impact in the high jump event this season. At the Nazareth College Invitational, he broke the meet record with a high jump of 6 feet 6 inches earning first place among 23 participants. Briggs again set records at St. John Fisher tying the meet record at 6 feet 7 inches which again earned him first place. Briggs also recently set a new personal record in the long jump at 6.55 meters.

Taylor Fry has been a catalyst for the Generals’ offense in the leadoff spot of the lineup. She currently leads NJCAA Region III with 58 hits so far this season. Fry also leads her team with 12 walks, 44 runs and 30 stolen bases.

“We are extremely proud of Taylor and all of the success she is enjoying this season,” said Head Coach PJ Anadio. “She is reaping the benefits of her own commitment, hard work and sacrifice to improve her strength, become a better player and ultimately gain the confidence needed to become an elite athlete.”
