Reynolds sets new school record at Cazenovia Invitational

CAVENOVIA, NY – With another invitational in the books, this time at the Cazenovia Invitational, the Generals' Men and Women swimming and diving team finished in fourth place on Saturday (11/9).

Herkimer had several swimmers do well, some even broke their own personal bests. Topping each of those efforts was sophomore Kristina Reynolds (Sherburne-Earlville, NY), breaking a school record in the 1000 yd. Freestyle. Reynolds, who placed a time of 13:18.13 in the event, had a solid day capturing two first-place finishes. Teaming up with Reynolds in one of those first-place finishes was Alexandra Whalen (New Hartford, NY), Erin Hutchison (Macedon, NY) and Kaitlin Winnie (Accord, NY). Together in the 400 yd. Freestyle Relay, a time of 4:42.72 was good enough for top honors. Reynolds other first-place finish came in the 100 yd. Backstroke.

The final first-place finish the women captured was in the 50 yd. Freestyle. Winnie, who swam in four total events, posted a time of 27.77, helping Herkimer qualify for nationals in seven events on the day.

For the men, they swam in five total events on Saturday, posting national qualifying times in three. Leading the way was sophomore David Stanley (Bronx, NY), swimming in three events. Stanley finished in 6th place in the 50 yd. Freestyle (26.81), 8th place in the 100 yd. Freestyle (1:01.63) and 2nd place in the 100 yd. Backstroke (1:10.01).
