Generals sweep at North Country POD

Saranac Lake, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team may have kept their postseason hopes alive with the sweep at North Country CC this past weekend.  Paige Klock (Herkimer, NY) led the charge for the Generals.  On the day Klock wound up with 42 kills and 14 blocks.  Freshman Kimmie Buckley (Herkimer, NY) also provided stability for Herkimer by playing a very solid net game that would prove to be crucial for the teams success over the course of the three games.  Klock's counterpart Marica Bellico (Napoli, Italy) played a strong middle as well which kept Herkimer's opponents off balance.  Setter Alex Maunz (Marcy, NY) had 38 assists which helped her teammates pounce on every opportunity they were given.  Defensively, Kimmie Buckley and freshman Winnie Carabin (Holland Patent, NY) made a lot of key digs and blocks that didn't go unnoticed by either team.

This marks the end of the regular season for Herkimer and a post season birth is yet to be determined still.  Herkimer will be waiting to hear if they qualify for a regional on 10/17 when the rankings come out.  The Generals are riding a 6 game winning streak and are now 12-11 overall (3-2 conference).
