Volleyball plays in Cara Bryant Tourney over weekend

SYRACUSE, NY – In their final away POD of the regular season, the Herkimer Generals women’s volleyball team competed in the Cara Bryant Tournament on Friday (10/10) and Saturday (10/11) hosted by Onondaga Community College, losing all four matches, going 0-4.

The only game the Generals (2-21, 1-5) was against Cayuga Community College. After dropping three straight, Herkimer took one over the Spartans 25-23.

Playing for the Generals in that match were Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY), Carolyn Thompson (Hannibal, NY), JaNay Mucitelli (Utica, NY), Shelby Bobzien (Endicott, NY) and Nickee Thibault (Ilion, NY). In total Williams finished that match with eight kills, three aces, nine digs, seven assists and three blocks; Thompson finished with nine kills and two digs; Mucitelli finished with one kill, two aces, 11 digs and one block; Bobzien finished with two kills, three digs and seven assists; Thibault finished with three aces and eight digs. 

Herkimer’s next match is on Wednesday (10/15). They’ll host conference rival Fulton-Montgomery Community College in their second home match of the season, finishing the regular season with five consecutive matches at home. Play is scheduled for 6 p.m.
