P.J. Anadio has been head coach of the bowling team since 2011. He has built the program's success since then with numerous student-athletes competing well at both regional and national tournaments. When asked what to expect this year Anadio said, “I know that we have a good core of bowlers coming back from last year’s team and some good recruits. My goals for us this season are for us to practice with commitment and to be intent on improving each time out.” He added, “If we do those things, you never know where we might end up. We just need to control what we can, and that’s our work ethic and practice habits.”
Anadio does brings a wealth of college coaching experience to the bowling program. Besides being the head softball coach, Anadio has also served as an assistant baseball coach and assistant men's basketball coach, helping guide each to national level competition. Along with on-the-field responsibilities, Anadio also acts as a recruiting coordinator for the program. His organizational and motivational skills as a coach, coupled with a recruiting prowess and dedication help Herkimer athletics reach a high standard.
A former student-athlete, Anadio played high school baseball at Gloversville High School, where he was a three-year varsity starter. He transferred to Herkimer College from Hartwick College and was named a two-year captain for the baseball team under Hank Testa. As a freshman, he batted .389 for the Generals and was selected to the All-Mountain Valley Conference Team. Additionally, Anadio also played with current Head Baseball Coach Jason Rathbun in 2010, helping Herkimer qualified for the Region III playoffs for the first time in 10 years. Anadio was also a very successful student in the classroom, where he received numerous honors. He earned Academic All-American, was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was named to Who's Who Among American Junior College Students.
Anadio resides in Herkimer, NY with his wife Jamie and his son Evan.
