Kristy Lynch is entering her ninth season as Head Volleyball Coach at Herkimer College in 2015. Under Lynch, the program has advanced significantly. The team is aiming at a return to their stellar performance of 2013 where they won the Mountain Valley Conference Tournament, just three years removed from their 2010 Region III Championship and eighth place finish at nationals.
Coach Lynch was named Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2010. She continues to recruit quality student-athletes, building a competitive program for the Generals. A 1999 graduate of Herkimer with an A.S. in Physical Education, she competed on the Generals women's volleyball team and was named MVP in 1997 and 1998.
In 2003, Lynch began coaching for the Caroga Lake Junior Olympic Volleyball Club under the direction of Jim Gabeler. The club has had great success and is one of the top programs in Central New York. Lynch also coached the Oppenheim-Ephratah varsity team for three years, leading them to a division championship in 2007.
Lynch holds a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Ithaca College and an M.S in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University. She is currently employed as a health teacher at Johnstown High School. She resides in Oppenheim with her husband Brett and son Kellan.
