Lazar, Hubbard & Babcock drive in 14 against Cannoneers

Watertown, NY-- The Herkimer Generals baseball team took two wins against the Jefferson Cannoneers Thursday afternoon 2-1, and 17-3.  Game one was a pitchers duel as Herkimer Pitcher Greg Musk (Rotterdam Junction, NY) was able to strike out 12 and held the Cannoneers' runs to 1.  Jefferson took an early 1-0 in the first as a runner took home on a wild pitch from Musk.  The Generals tied it up in the fourth from a sac fly from Brandon Hubbard (Rockville, MD).  The score remained tied until Herkimer's last at bats when Justin Emond stole home on a wild pitch.

The Generals offense came alive in game two; particularly from Bobby Lazar (Fairfield, CT) who drove in five RBIs, Brandon Hubbard who drove in five RBIs, and Leon Babcock (Bloomfield, CT) who drove in four.  Lazar went 3-3 just a triple shy of the cycle.  Hubbard, this week's NJCAA Region III player of the week also went 3-3 keeping it short and sweet with three singles.  Babcock went 2-2 with a single and a bomb.  Herkimer finished on top 17-3 after five innings.
