In the fourth Hennessy induced Leon Babcock (Bloomfield, CT) to ground out, but one run scored, Patrick Troy singled off of Hennessy, driving in one run, Justin Emond hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, and Christian Aybar (Pawtucket, RI) homered off of Erie's reliever Seijas, driving in three runs.

In game two Herkimer watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-3 loss. The Generals fell despite out-hitting Erie nine to seven. The Kats took an early lead in the first inning hitting into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. Two more runs were given to the Kats from Herkimer errors in the third inning giving the Kats their largest lead at 4-0.
Colin Shunk (Rome, NY) took the loss for Herkimer. He tossed two and a third innings, surrendering four runs, two hits, and striking out two. The Generals had nine hits in the game. Bobby Lazar and Christian Aybar each collected multiple hits. Lazar led Herkimer with two runs batted in. He went 3-for-4 on the day.
Herkimer down by just two runs in the bottom of the ninth had a perfect opportunity to tie it up. Runners on first and second with no outs and the next three batters were unable to advance them. Nine hitter Emond struck out. Lead off hitter Christian Aybar, who made an unbelievable diving catch in center field in the top of the inning, to hold Erie at a two run lead as shown in the photo, hit a ball in left center but Erie left fielder was able to catch it for the second out of the inning. Bobby Lazar was fooled on a high fastball swinging through it to record the final out of the game leaving Herkimer behind 5-3.
The Generals are forced to play the if necessary game tomorrow Monday May 15th beginning at 1PM.
