Herkimer Baseball sweeps OCC, enters Final Four as # 1 seed

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer Generals baseball team qualified for the Region III Final Four Tournament with a two game sweep of Onondaga Community College on Sunday, May 13, by scores of 5-4 and 6-3. The two wins secured them the #1 seed in the tournament, which will be hosted by Herkimer College at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls, NY, on May 18 through May 20.

              The Generals will enter the Final Four with a record of 32-6 on the year and the #4 ranking in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll. The winner of this weekend’s tournament will advance to the NJCAA Division III Baseball World Series, which will be held at Pioneer Park in Greenville, Tennessee on May 26 through May 31. Coach Jason Rathbun will be looking to lead the Generals to their sixth appearance in the World Series since he took over the program in 2005.

Game 7 (if necessary): Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6 - 3:30 p.m.
