Herkimer Baseball defeats Erie CC 14-4., moves on to Regional Semifinal

Little Falls, NY - The # 1 Herkimer Generals spotted the # 4 Erie CC Kats a 4-0 lead, then responded with an 11 run second inning to cruise to a 14-4 six inning victory in the first game of the NJCAA Region III Final Four at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls. The win improves Herkimer's record to 33-6 on the year. 

Matt Parkinson (Whitesboro, NY) led the way for the Generals, going 3-4 with 2 RBI's. Brandon Kruzinski (Schenectady, NY) went 2-4 and knocked in 3 runs. Ben Rhodes (Amsterdam, NY) and Joe Fichera (Mahopac, NY) also added 2 hits apiece.

Keegan Leffler (Wilton, NY) got the win on the mound, overcoming some early adversity and going 5 strong innings, while striking out 6. 

The Generals will await the winner of the Hudson Valley/Niagara game and play in the winners bracket game of the tournament, scheduled for 3:30 on Saturday at Vet's Park.
