Herkimer Baseball Earns # 1 seed for NJCAA Division III World Series

Herkimer, NY – After defeating Niagara County Community College for the Region III baseball championship, the Herkimer Generals achieved a historic first for their program under Head Coach Jason Rathbun, by earning the overall #1 seed at the 2018 NJCAA Division III College World Series. The World Series begins on Saturday, May 26 at Pioneer Park in Greeneville, Tennessee.

The Generals (35-7), who will represent District A, begin their quest for the program’s first National Championship at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, as they face the #8 seed, Rockingham Community College Eagles (NC). The Eagles, the District D champions, come into the World Series with a record of 23-19-1.


The first day schedule is as follows:

 Game 1:  #5 Northampton (PA) vs. #4 Oakton (IL) - 9:30 a.m.

Game 2: #8 Rockingham (NC) vs. #1 Herkimer (NY) - 12:30 p.m.

Game 3: #6 Northern Essex (MA) vs. #3 Tyler (TX) - 4:00 p.m.

Game 4:  #7 St. Cloud (MN) vs. #2 Rowan Gloucester (NJ) - 7:00 p.m.
