Herkimer Baseball Players Receive Post-Season Awards
Herkimer, NY - Herkimer’s standout freshman Brendyn Stillman was named second team All-American. He is the 19th All-American in Herkimer College baseball history. Stillman batted .422 on the season with 13 doubles, 7 triples, and 9 homeruns. He also added 54 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. He was also named to the All-Region team and All-Conference team.
Herkimer placed six players on the All-Conference team; Brendyn Stillman, Brian Forbes, Steven Centorani, Ryan Flansburg, Matt Parkinson, and Joe Fichera. Herkimer also placed five players on the All- Region Team. Micheal Wroth, Brendyn Stillman, and Joe Flansburg were all named first team while Joe Fichera, Brian Forbes, Matt Parkinson made the second team.
Freshman catcher Matt Parkinson hit .430 with 14 doubles, 3 triples, and 3 homeruns. Another freshman, Brian Forbes, hit .374 with 12 doubles, 4 triples, and 3 homeruns. Cetorani the 4th freshman to return next year hit .376 with 5 homeruns and also went 12 innings on the mound not giving up an earned run and added 15 strikeouts with only 3 walks.
Carson Newman recruit Mike Wroth who was also selected as Region III Tournament MVP, broke the season homerun record with 12 homeruns. He also hit .371 with 9 doubles and 43 RBIs. Keystone College recruit Joe Fichera added a .460 average with 19 stolen bases and 14 doubles and 3 homeruns. Flansburg posted a 6-0 record over 46 innings pitched with 58 strikeouts.
