Erie edges Herkimer 6-4 in 12 Innings

Little Falls, NY - # 4 seed Erie Community College scratched out two runs in the top of 12th inning to defeat the # 1 seed Herkimer College on Friday afternoon at Vets Park in Little Falls in the Region III Division III Final Four. The loss drops Herkimer's record to 31-4-2 on the season.

Brian Forbes (Rocky Point, NY) was the offense for the Generals, hitting a 3 home run in the 5th inning to give the Generals a 3-2 lead, then adding a solo shot in the 7th to tie the game at 4. Tyler Mcdonnell (Yorktown Heights, NY) took the loss on the mound for Herkimer.

Next up for the Generals in the double elimination tournament is a 12:00 game on Saturday against the loser of Niagara CCC and Finger Lakes, which is currently being played. The Generals now must win 2 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday to advance to the National Tournament. Erie moves on to play the winner of Niagara/Finger Lakes at 3:30 on Saturday in a winners bracket game.
