4 Herkimer College baseball players earn NJCAA Division III All-American honors

HERKIMER, NY—Four members of the Herkimer Generals baseball team have been named to the 2021 NJCAA Division III All-American Teams.

Sophomore designated hitter Anthony Raimo, Jr. was named to the First Team All-American squad, while freshmen infielder Dakota Britt and pitcher Greg Farone were named to the Second Team. Freshman catcher Yuzuki Okamura was named to the Third Team.

Raimo (Altamont, NY) hit .402 this season with seven home runs and 46 RBI’s. He also walked 30 times and had an on-base percentage of .544.

Britt (Rockwell, Texas) hit .411 with seven home runs and had 15 stolen bases in hitting leadoff for the Generals. Farone, a lefthander from Schenectady, NY, went 6-0 with a 2.09 ERA for Herkimer and struck out 74 batters in only 43 innings of work.

Okamura (Shiga, Japan) was named Region III Player of the Year and led the Generals in batting average and RBI’s, hitting .447 and knocking in 56 while hitting six home runs on the year.

The Generals finished the season with a record of 32-4. They took home the Mountain Valley Conference Championship title and finished No. 6 in the final NJCAA Division III National Poll.
