Baseball signs eight seniors for next season

HERKIMER, NY - Herkimer Baseball announced the signing of eight high school seniors who look to make an impact for the Generals in 2015.

"We are excited about this start to our recruiting class. We have some big names out there that we are still working hard on to join our family but we are excited about the group we already have coming in," stated Head Coach Jason Rathbun

Nick Kuzia, a right-hander from Seymour High School out of Connecticut, is a tall lanky pitcher who already sits at 83-85 mph and has a strong projection for the future. His brother Joe Kuzia was a starting pitcher for the Generals the past two seasons where he made great strides on the mound. Joe is currently leading the St. John's Red Storm pitching staff with a standout season. "Nick already has a better understanding of how to pitch with a better fastball at his age then when we got Joe. I think Nick's ceiling is very high," added Rathbun.

Jake Rouse is out of Jonathan Law High School in Connecticut. Jake is one of the best hitters in the state and can swing the bat from both sides of the plate with power. Jake is a corner infielder that could also move to a corner outfield spot in college. "We know the type of impact Jake will have in our lineup. We are really excited to get his bat in the middle of our lineup next year," added Rathbun.

Joseph Gagliano is a 6’8’’ RHP out of PCTI in New Jersey. "We are really excited to get Joe in a work with him. I think he size is something that can really be a factor on the mound," stated Rathbun.

Adam Nell is a 6'4’’ corner infielder from VVS high school here in New York. Adam is a strong athlete who could also see time in a corner outfield spot but will work his way into the lineup somehow with his incredible power at the plate. "Adam is a great student athlete and we are really impressed by his power at the plate. We think he can have a huge impact as a freshman next year."

Baylee Hall is from Fonda Fultonville High School in New York. Baylee is a versatile infielder with a good swing at the plate. He is also the cousin of former All Region player Tyler Hall who was a former General. "Baylee is a little bigger than Tyler and we think he has good hands and will help us next year."

TJ Carola is a RHP from Hicksville High school in Long Island. TJ is already 1-0 with a shutout in his first appearance this spring. "TJ has a great motion on the mound and really gets after it. We think he can really be an impact arm for us next year."

Petar Rumora is a LHP/Infielder who will try to be a dual player for the Generals next year. Rumora is a big 6'5 240 player with big upside. "Petar is a strong athlete that we really look forward to developing next year. He will have a big impact in our program."

Stephen Cardiello is a RHP from Long Island who competed for Anthony Passalaqua's Long Island Force this past summer. He will add much need depth on the mound.

"This is a great start to our recruiting class next year. We are excited to work with all these student athletes and welcome them to our baseball family."
