Herkimer wins at buzzer in National Tournament Game
Loch Sheldrake, NY - Solomon Silas (Lagos, Nigeria) hit a 15 foot baseline jump shot at the buzzer to complete a stirring Herkimer comeback in the last two minutes and give the Generals a 78-76 win over Minnesota West Community College in the consolation bracket of the 2018 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
After leading 60-50 with 8 minutes left, the Generals found themselves down 73-65 with 1:54 remaining. The Generals turned up the defense and forced 3 Minnesota West turnovers in the last 1:30.
