Herkimer sweeps weekend home games vs Corning and Finger Lakes

Herkimer, NY - Herkimer earned their first home wins of the 2018-2019 season with a sweep of Corning Community College and Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18. The wins lifted the Generals record to 6-1 on the season.

On Saturday the 17th, Herkimer shot out to a ten point halftime lead against Corning and gradually increased the margin in the second half for a 86-63 win. Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) led the way with 17 points on the afternoon while Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) pitched in with 14. It was the Generals first win on their home court this year.

The next day featured a high scoring matchup with Finger Lakes, with the Generals coming out on top by a score of 90-80. Once again, Herkimer jumped out to a ten point halftime lead and went back and forth with the Lakers in the second half before securing their second win in two days. Felder again led the Generals in scoring with 22 points on the day. He also added 9 assists. Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY) had 15 points and Freshman Isaiah Stone (Baldwin, NY) added 12 points for Herkimer.

Next up for the Generals after the Thanksgiving break is a trip to Watertown, NY to take on Jefferson Community College on Thursday, November 29. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
