Felder named Region III and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year.

Herkimer, NY – Herkimer College Men’s Basketball Senior Guard Derrick Felder was recently named Region III and Mountain Valley Player of the Year while Teshaun Beckles earn Second Team All-Region and All-Conference honors and Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY) was named to the Second Team All-Conference as well.

Felder, a senior guard from Yonkers, NY, averaged a team high 15.6 points per game along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds while shooting 72% from the free throw line on the year. Felder was also named the 2019 Region III Tournament MVP as the Generals won the Regional Championship for the third year in a row and the sixth time in seven years.

Beckles, a sophomore forward from Bronx, NY, (pictured above) averaged 12.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the year,  good for second highest on the Generals in all categories. Pough, a sophomore forward from Brooklyn, NY, averaged a team high 6.3 rebounds a game while scoring 11.4 points per contest. Pough was also named to the Region III All-Tournament Team.

The Herkimer Generals are currently 28—1 and will carry a 25 game winning streak into the 2019 NJCAA Division III National Tournament, which will take place in Rochester, Minnesota on March 14-16.
