Stephens’ Buzz Beater Moves Generals to 10-1 on the Season

The Herkimer Generals played Jamestown CC Jayhawks Sunday at Herkimer College. The Jayhawks jumped out ahead of the Generals in the first half by the score of 28-33. The Generals then went on 22-5 run after intermission to go up 50-38 on Jamestown. The Jayhawks fought back and tied the game up at 65 with 3 seconds left.  After a time out, Keyshawn Miller (Yonkers, NY) got the inbounds pass, dribbled around 2 defenders and passed it to Jayden Stephens’ (Yonkers, NY) on the left wing. Stephens pulled up and hit the game winning three as time expired.

The Generals defense came alive with 10 steals on the afternoon. Shykell Brown (Rochester, NY) led the way with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Stephens had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Miller added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while Zyier Lawrence (Oneonta, NY) finished the night with 7 points and 7 rebounds.

The Generals move to 10-1 on the season and will have the next three weeks off for Winter Recess. The Generals will be back in action January 4th when they travel to Cayuga CC.
