Herkimer got good offensive efforts and alert, tough defense from every General on the court, but they were missing more shots than usual. The visitors drained two threes to keep things close at 13-11, but then the home side stepped up their offense.

The second half began with a spectacular play. Guard Jerome Floyd passed to Demetrius Mitchell on the right wing. Mitchell saw Thomas in the right spot and sent a perfect alley-oop pass to the far side of the backboard. Thomas went up high and stuffed the ball, to the home crowd's great delight. That Mitchell-Thomas play got the Herkimer offense into a higher gear. They had a 15-point lead and were not satisfied with it. Every General got into the game, and every General made a contribution. The final score was 74-46.
