Herkimer Basketball runs past Redemption Christian Academy 95-75

Herkimer, NY - After two comfortable victories to open the 2012-2013 season, the Herkimer Generals got their first test of the young season as they trailed Redemption Christian Academy at the half by a score of 48-43 at the half on Monday night.

Consider the test passed.

Using a balanced scoring attack, the Generals outscored RCA 52-27 in the second half to cruise home with a 95-75 win. Senior point guard Jerome Floyd (Uniondale, NY) led the Generals with 20 points. Fellow senior Demetrius Mitchell (Syracuse, NY) added 18 points while freshman center Jon Feiler (Smithtown, NY) and swingman Mike Thomas (Chicago, IL) pitched in with 16 and 10 points respectively.

With the victory, the Generals improve to 3-0 on the season and figure to get another tough test on Thursday night, as they travel to Watertown, NY to take on Jefferson CC in their first road game of the year. Tip time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
