Herkimer bowls well at Adirondack

Bowling 1 30 2013 MegDouglassFort Edward, NY - The Herkimer CCC men's bowling team got off to a fast start last Wednesday afternoon as they came out of the gate shooting a 1018 in the first game, good enough for the lead after one. Jason Kime (265), Tony DeLuca (257) and Brett Risi (231) we firing on all cylinders for the Generals. In Game 2, Herkimer stumbled only slightly (1001), but the rest of the field figured out the tough pattern and quickly closed the gap, with some teams moving ahead. By the end, the Generals just ran out of gas and ended up finishing fifth among the six teams with a score of 2980 despite stellar days by Jason Kime (711), Tony DeLuca (664) and Brett Risi (654). (Meg Douglass watches her ball make good contact above.)

On the women's side, pins were tough to come by but the Generals did manage to earn their first win of the year in conference match play by putting up a score of 2422. Herkimer was led by Sarah Foley's 590 with a high game of 207. Sara Edenhofer was right behind her with a high game of 203, leading to a 571 finish. Meg Douglass also pitched in with a great game of 191. Improvement was the theme of the day and that's exactly what the Generals did.
