HCCC Bowlers Compete at MVCC Conference Match
Utica, NY - The Herkimer Men's and Women's Bowling teams traveled to Utica, NY on Friday to take part in a Mountain Valley Conference Bowling Match hosted by MVCC. The women finished second out of four schools while the men finished fifth out of six teams competing.
The women stormed out to 90 pin lead after Game 1 with Sarah Foley (Rome, NY) leading the way with a 208. The 845 total for Game 1 was the highest for the Generals this year. After MVCC roared back to take the lead after Game Two, the Generals established a new high mark for a game this season with a 897 total in Game Three. Despite that great effort, MVCC hung on for the victory while Herkimer held on for second place. Foley shot a season best 665 on the day and Sara Edenhofer (Hilton, NY) shot 590 on the day with a 223 high game.
On the men's side, it was a rocky start but they battled all day and came back to take 5th place. Jason Kime (Caledonia, NY) led the way for the Generals with a 624 three game total. Tony DeLuca (Frankfort, NY) and Brett Risi (Ilion, NY) followed up for Herkimer with 583 and 572 totals respectively.
The Generals are off until Thursday when they host the Mountain Valley Conference Match at the State Bowling Center in Ilion, NY. Start time is 3:30 PM.
