Herkimer Cross Country runs well at Finger Lakes Invitational
CANANDAIGUA, NY – A solid week of training proved beneficial to the Herkimer College Generals’ men’s and women’s cross country teams as they had another strong showing at the Bruce Bridgman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College.
The women’s team was incomplete once again, but both Isabel Van Tassel (Cazenovia/Cazenovia, NY) and Malerie Belles (Cicero-North Syracuse/Clay, NY) ran well individually. Van Tassel finished the 5K course in 29:36.53, good for 18th place, while Belles ran only a few spots back, finishing 22nd with a time of 31:08.30.
The men on the other hand ran a solid race to finish 5th as a team, with a score of 118 points. They were led once again by Andrew Yacobucci (Canajoharie/Canajoharie, NY). His time of 32:51.02 on the tough 8K course was good for 10th place overall. Following Yacobucci were Kyler Ford (Herkimer/Herkimer, NY), George Watson (Herkimer/Herkimer, NY), Ricky Patterson (Peekskill/Peekskill, NY), Justin Jones (Central Valley/Ilion, NY) and Kennyasha Joseph (Dover/Dover Plains, NY).
