Generals compete in 9th annual SUNY Poly Invitational

UTICA, NY – In the Herkimer Generals first cross country meet of the season at SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Saturday (9/5), both men and women had an incomplete result.

Individually, Norman Clayton (Bronx, NY) and Ashley Lynch (Cohoes, NY) ran the best for the Generals. Clayton finished in 48th - posting a 22:00.2 - and Lynch finished 85th, posting a 26:22.3.

Freshman Matt Manda (Scotia, NY) was the only other runner to finish in the Top 100. His 24.31.9 in the 6K gave him 76th place.

Following the top three were Jessica Malskis (Jay, NY), Elazjah DeDeaux (Syracuse, NY), Mandi LeClair (Sherburne, NY) and Taj Parker (Mount Vernon, NY). Malskis finished 118th (34:34.6), DeDeaux finished 122nd (39:04.1), LeClair finished 123rd (40:53.6) and Parker finished 125th (39:45.8).

Herkimer’s next meet is on Friday (9/11) for the Bruce Bridge Invitational. Competition is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
