Final ramp up at Hamilton Invitational

(Shiena Kimura posted a 23:20.1 on Saturday and was the first female to finish for the Generals at Hamilton).

(The men start strong at Hamilton College on Saturday). 

HAMILTON, NY – In their final meet before the Mountain Valley Conference Championship, the Herkimer Generals cross country program faced their stiffest competition at Hamilton College on Saturday (10/10), competing against a lot of NCAA DIII level student-athletes.

Herkimer had six runners, three men and women. Norman Clayton (Bronx, NY) had the best finish, posting a 29:56.9 for 109th place. Matt Manda (Scotia, NY) had the second highest finish of the bunch, placing 140th thanks to a 31:47.2. Shinea Kimura (Tokyo, Japan) was the best female runner, finishing in 150th place with a 23:20.1.

Rounding out the General attack was Ashley Lynch (Cohoes, NY), Taj Parker (Mount Vernon, NY) and Yu Inose (Tokyo, Japan). Lynch finished 162nd (24:11.5) Parker finished 166th (30:36.3) and Inose finished 168th (24:58.3)

As mentioned previously, the Generals will compete in the Mountain Valley Conference Championship in their next meet. It will take place on Saturday, October 17th.
