Herkimer Men's Golf turns in strong performances over the weekend at MVCC and in Herkimer Match

Oneida, NY and Herkimer, NY - The second weekend of competition for the Herkimer Men's Golf team included being the host school for a Saturday match at Mohawk Valley Country Club after traveling to Oneida on Friday for a match at Mohawk Valley's home course. The Generals finished 4th as a team on Friday at MVCC before returning home and finishing 5th on Saturday.

On Friday in Oneida, Nicky Visconti (Little Falls, NY) once again led the way for Herkimer as he shot a 77, which was good for second place overall on the day. Erik Smith (McGraw, NY) has a strong first match as he made his 2019 debut by carding an 83, which was good for a top 10 finish. Collin Williams (Newport, NY) shot an 89 while Jacob Hazlett (Fort Plain, NY), Jake Darling (Dolgeville, NY), and Anthony Giuliani (Amsterdam, NY) each scored 94, 96, and 97 respectively to round out the scoring as a team for Herkimer.

On Saturday, the teams battled through some early morning showers to compete at the Herkimer College match at Mohawk Valley Country Club. Visconti once again paced the Generals attack, carding a 74 which was good for a third place finish individually. 

Next up for the golf team is a Friday trip to Watertown NY to take part in the Jefferson CC invite on Friday afternoon, followed by a trip to Troy, NY on Sunday, the 28th to take part in the Mountain Valley Conference Championships at Hudson Valley CC.
