Men's Golf finishes 3rd at Jamestown and 5th at Niagara

Jamestown NY and Sanborn NY - The Herkimer Generals Men's Golf team traveled out to Western New York this past weekend to take in the Jamestown CC and Niagara CCC Golf Tournaments. The Generals finished 3rd out of 6 teams on Friday afternoon in Jamestown and 5th out of 7 teams on Saturday morning at Niagara CCC.

In Friday's match, Nick Visconti (Little Falls, NY) led the charge for Herkimer by shooting a 77, which was good for 3rd overall, just 2 strokes behind the winner. Collin Williams (Newport, NY) and Erik Smith (McGraw, NY) each shot an 87 while Jacob Hazlett (Fort Plain, NY) was right behind with an 88. Senior Jacob Darling (Dolgeville, NY) tallied a 94 and Anthony Giuliani (Amsterdam, NY) completed the Generals scoring with an 89 on the day. Herkimer's team total of 339 put them solidly in 3rd place on the afternoon.

Herkimer followed up the Friday performance with a 5th place finish (out of 7 teams) on Saturday at Willowbrook GC for the Niagara CCC tournament. Visconti once again paced the Generals, carding a 76 which was good for a 6th place finish. Smith followed with a total of 93 and Williams finished 5 shots behind that with a 98. Darling and Giuliani followed with a 102 and 108 respectively. 

With the regular season portion of the schedule over, the Generals look forward to competing for the Region III Championships, which will be hosted by Onondaga Community College at Timber Banks GC on Monday and Tuesday, May 13th and 14th.
