Hudson Valley deals Herkimer Lacrosse first loss of season

Herkimer, NY - Hudson Valley used a 5 goal second period to deal the Herkimer Generals their first loss of the 2018 season in a 10-6 Viking win on Wednesday afternoon at Wehrum Stadium. The loss drops the Generals record to 4-1 on the year. 

With the score 2-1 in favor of Herkimer near the end of the first period, the Vikings scored a goal as the first period buzzer sounded and that sparked them to outscore Herkimer 5-1 in the second quarter to give them a 7-3 halftime lead they would not relinquish. The Generals were led by Jace Babka (Draper, UT) who scored four of Herkimer's six goals on the afternoon. Pat Gribbon (Stone Ridge, NY) and Dylan Gruneisen (Potsdam, NY) added one goal apiece. Jack Babka (Draper, UT) made 16 saves in goal for Herkimer.

The Generals will try to get back on the winning track on Sunday afternoon, April 8th as they host the Monroe Tribunes at Wehrum Stadium. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
