TROY, NY – Totaling their most goals of the season and capturing their third straight conference victory Wednesday (4/8) helped the Herkimer Generals men’s lacrosse team clinch the Mountain Valley Conference on the road, defeating Hudson Valley 27-6.

Herkimer (6-1) had seven different players score multiple goals against the Vikings, led by Kyle Lee’s (Cincinnati, OH) eight goals and five assists. It helped Herkimer jump out to an 8-3 lead after the first and 16-5 lead at intermission. Lee now has a team-high 23 goals and 12 assists on the season.

Not too far behind Lee was Ryan Fischer (Monroe, NY) and Jeremy Mowrey (Johnstown, NY). Both players netted five goals. It was Fischer’s third time and Mowrey’s second time this season they had scored five in a game. Added to this, they combined for five assists, with Fischer getting two and Mowrey getting three.

Getting his first hat trick of the season was sophomore Cristian Ojeda (Ossining, NY). The midfielder got the feat with 22 seconds left in the game when teammate Isaac Miranda (Norwalk, CT) found him for the team’s 27th goal. Miranda also had two goals to go along with his four assists.

Rounding out the offense for Herkimer was Jamar Minto (Uniondale, NY), Jonathan Magaletti (Amsterdam, NY) and Kyle Dunn (Kingston, NY). Minto had two goals, Magaletti had two goals and Dunn had one assist. Minto now has five goals, Magaletti has two goals and Dunn has two assists on the season.

Splitting duties in goal for the Generals on Wednesday were Austin Loeffel (Red Hook, NY) and Mario Diaz (New Rochelle, NY). Loeffel got the start, saving seven. Diaz came in and played the final 20 minutes, accumulating four saves.

Up next for Herkimer is Niagara County Community College. The Thunderwolves have lost their last four games and are ranked ninth in the region.
