# 1 Herkimer wins first road game of season at TC-3

Dryden, NY - The #1 nationally ranked Herkimer Generals Women’s Soccer Team traveled to Tompkins Cortland Community College on Wednesday and won by a score of 3-0. The Generals found their form early again as Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game courtesy of an Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills, NY) service. After that the Generals struggled to put more goals in the back of the net even though they had the better of play in the first half. Herkimer took 10 shots on goal and won 9 corners in the first half of play.

In the second half it was more of the same as Herkimer dominated the flow of play. Capron doubled the lead 11 minutes into the second half off a Maddie Renshaw (Herkimer, NY) through ball. The Generals kept pounding on the door but didn’t get the third until 8 minutes left in the game when a nice combination play with Haley Harrington (Munnsville, NY) & Capron found freshman Kristen Purcell (Sauquoit, NY) who quickly finished. Rachel Todd (McGraw, NY)  played 90 minutes for the shutout. The Generals are back in action Sunday home against Clinton at 12:30 PM
