George leads # 4 Herkimer past SUNY Broome

Herkimer, NY - Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) scored two first half goals and Herkimer's team defensive effort made it stand it as the Generals held off SUNY Broome by a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wehrum Stadium. The win raises the #4 ranked Generals record to 9-1-1 on the year. 

George opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game off an assist from Senior Maddie Renshaw (Herkimer, NY). 11 minutes later, George added her second goal of the day with the assist going to Annie Thorp (Hilton, NY). Herkimer took the 2-0 lead into halftime and used a great defensive effort to shut out the Hornets. It was Herkimer's sixth shutout of the year. Senior goalie Rachel Todd had 5 saves in goal to earn the win. 

The Generals will conclude the home portion of their regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon, Oct 3 as they host rival Mohawk Valley Community College. Game time is set for 4:30 PM at Wehrum Stadium.
