Herkimer Women's Soccer drops National Quarterfinal Game to Brookdale

Rockford, Illinois - Down three goals in the first half to # 4 seeded Brookdale Community College (NJ), the #5 seed Herkimer Generals battled back before dropping a 4-3 decision in a National Quarterfinal Game of the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Championships in Rockford, Illinois. The loss drops the Generals record to 13-4-1 on the year.

Down 2-0 early, Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills, NY) scored to cut the Brookdale lead in half midway through the first half. Brookdale then scored 2 goals in 50 seconds to extend to 4-1 lead before Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) scored right before halftime to make the score 4-2 at intermission.

George scored another goal midway through the second half to cut the Brookdale lead to 1. The Generals had their chances in the last 20 minutes but could not put home the tying goal.

Herkimer will play their last game of the year on Friday as they take on Holyoke CC (MA) in a consolation game of the National Tournament. Game time is set for 11:00 AM EST.
